Senior researcher at the National Food Institute, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), and heading the research group for Risk-Benefit. The research group aims to prevent disease and promote health by developing and implementing models and methods in the quantitative health assessment of foods, which can be used in risk-benefit assessments, risk and benefit ranking, and burden of disease studies. In the longer term, the group will add aspects such as economics and sustainability to the overall assessment alongside the health impact assessment. Member of the EFSA working group on novel foods and chief editor of the European Journal of Nutrition and Food Safety. Also working in areas as risk assessment of novel foods, food enzymes, GM food and insects.
